Dental x-rays, including panoramic (OPG) and bitewings

Dental X-rays

Dental x-rays, including panoramic (OPG) and bitewings, are vital for diagnosing and monitoring oral health conditions. Bitewings help detect cavities between teeth early, ensuring prompt treatment to prevent further decay. OPG x-rays provide a comprehensive view of the teeth, jaw, and bone structure, aiding in orthodontic planning and removal of wisdom teeth. These x-rays are safe due to minimal radiation exposure, modern equipment, and protective measures such as lead aprons, which can be supplied upon request. They are used based on individual needs, ensuring accurate diagnosis and effective treatment monitoring without unnecessary risk.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at info@tdsm.com.au if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Why do I need to come every 6 months?

Regular dental visits every six months are important to maintain optimal oral health. These appointments allow dentists to catch potential problems early, provide professional cleanings that remove stubborn plaque and tartar, and offer personalized advice on oral hygiene. This proactive approach helps prevent cavities, gum disease, and other oral health issues, promoting overall well-being. However, for our low risk patients we often recommend 9-12 months inbetween cleans.

This differs between dentists, however most regular patients will be in and out of the clinic within 30 minutes.

Eligible children under the age of 18 may be covered for check-up and cleans by Medicare’s Child Dental Benefits Schedule, however Medicare does not provide any dental coverage to those over 18 years of age. We offer payment plans to alleviate the financial strain on our patients and concession cards are also eligible for a 10% discount of their treatment with us.

Dental cleanings are designed to be comfortable and gentle, especially for those who attend regular cleaning appointments. While you might feel slight sensitivity or minor discomfort, especially if you have sensitive gums or teeth, rest assured that our team prioritises your comfort throughout the process. Your well-being is our top priority, and we strive to make your experience as pleasant as possible.
